Breakfast the next morning… we set off into our neighbourhood, walking by all of the different cafes and pastry shops, we stopped by one whose decor is very similar to that of Dean and Deluca back in the day.
Apart from a counter full of sandwiches, pastries, cheeses and charcuterie, the store had an epicerie of almost anything else you could want to buy, including a large selection of wines and mezcals!
Grabbing a simple breakfast, I went for a croissant and some grapefruit juice, along with a very good cappuccino. There were a number of jams sitting out to be tried… I went for the fresh berries jam and a sort of cardamom and chipotle jam… the berries were delicious, where the other was more of an acquired taste!
But for a light breakfast in the morning, this was perfect… we sat at the small table and looked over the chef’s cookbooks, which were all sitting there for perusal, and enjoyed watching the neighbourhood come by to buy coffees, bread, and other bits and pieces!
