Lunch outside on a day that the temperatures hit over 30 degrees… obviously, we needed to go sit on a terrace! Unfortunately, our first pick, Barrafina, doesn’t start serving food outside until 12:30, and I had to get back to the office quickly… so we ended up at the Dean Street Townhouse, which I hadn’t been to in a few years.
They started us off with some bread and butter… nice and crusty and warm (… as was the butter in the sun…)
For mains, we each got a fish, and shared a side salad of butter lettuce and avocado… it’s good that we shared it, as the plate was as bit as our main courses! Buttery lettuce and avocado tossed in chives, it was simple, healthy and very fresh!
Alice got the seabream, served with broadbeans, pea shoots, and chili, on a broadbean puree. It looked very good…
I got the sea trout, with Girolles, leeks and samphire, which was delicious, however, there was a bit too much butter in the dish. To the point that I felt everything was soaked in it… a bit too heavy for a lighter dish. But the fish was perfectly cooked and the veggies were too, so other than that, I was happy!
