El Chiringuito, Ibiza

Back to Ibiza for a girl’s weekend… we started off with a Saturday routine that doesn’t get old.. lunch at El Chiringuito, followed by afternoon cocktails at the Experimental Cocktail Club.

To start, a number of salads and bites… the fennel and courgette salad, served with slices of raw mushroom as well… so fresh and so good!

Next, the massive balls of burrata (really nice and creamy) with roasted red peppers and onions… sprinkled with a few black olives… this was also really good… and something I might try to recreate at home!

As we ate, we watched the oyster man walk around, shucking oysters right in front of your table as you wait…

We continued with the tuna tartare, topping an avocado creme, with a nice soy and sesame sauce… Much better and fresher than I had expected!

My favourite, the perfectly charred padron peppers…

And the lightly fried calamari, served with a homemade tartar sauce…. this was divine with a bit of lemon squeezed on top, and not too heavy as the calamari were so lightly fried..

And then, we waited for the fish we had ordered to come…

… a large seabass baked in salt…

Serve with some roasted potatoes and a delicious, creamy butter sauce…

We each got a huge serving of the seabass, which was moist and flaky…

And there we go, very happy and very full after all of this food… Off to Experimental Cocktail we went!
