A chilly day in London, and I’m craving ramen, but want a change from my regular place, Shoryu on Lower Regents Street. We head into Soho and discover a small ramen joint, Sasuke, that’s half full and looks pretty authentic… so in we go!
We started with the karaage chicken, which was super moist, nice and crunchy on the outside (though the batter flavouring was just ok), and pipping hot in the middle… yum.
Then, I got the tonkatsu ramen. It was just ok… there wasn’t tons of broth, it was lukewarm and the corn tasted canned. But the noodles were good.
And… check out that pork. Mmmm.
Overall, a pretty underwhelming ramen experience. There are tons of small ramen spots in Soho, so I don’t see myself going back to this one.
