New Years, Harbour Island, Bahamas

A few days in the Bahamas after Christmas… it was heavenly. Turquoise waters, warm weather, delicious lobster and stone crab…

And the most charming houses on the small island… what a beautiful place!

Our last night there, we got treated to a delicious, homemade meal… IMG_4961

A pork loin stuffed with fennel, leeks, and Gorgonzola, served with a fennel and radish salad and a potato rosti… all drizzled with a little basil oil. The mix of leeks and Gorgonzola was heavenly…

Then, an almond chocolate pot for dessert… small, rich, and delightful.

Afterwards, we went to go check out the New Years day parade on the island… the big parade happens on Boxing Day, the 26th of December, with a big competition between the Warriors and the Zulus, the two teams, who create different floats and costumes… But tonight it was just the Warriors, and the parade lasted an hour instead of several hours.

We had a great time watching everyone shake it, and decided that we would join and dance next year 🙂
