San Ambroeus, South Hampton, New York

But we didn’t get all the way to the city… we took a quick swing through Sag Harbor, which is probably my favourite Hampton after Montauk… both are a bit more low-key than the others… There was a huge fair going on, and no parking, so, on we continued.

We drove through Bridgehampton, making it finally into Southampton.. and decided to take a little shopping break, as well as a late lunch break.

We stopped at San Ambroeus, on Main Street, which had one outdoor table left… and all piled into bowls of pasta!

Mine was a squid ink fettucine, served with smoked salmon, tomatoes, and a light pesto. It wasn’t too heavy, and really hit the spot, washed down nicely with a glass of rose.
