After a morning at Himeji Castle (the second day it was open after five years of rennovations!), we headed back to Osaka to get some lunch. The first restaurant that the hotel recommended didn’t have anyone that spoke English working there.. and the waitresses were so embarrassed that they sat and giggled behind their hands… and wouldn’t sit us. Right.
The next restaurant was completely booked (thanks again, guys), but the waitress was very nice… she left the restaurant with us and walked us around to the best restaurants in the neighborhood, until she found us one that had room. What an amazing woman.
So we ended up at this little sushi place. No idea what the name was. There were three omakase (chef’s choice) nigiri options, each with 8 pieces of sushi. We got the nicest version, which included the very fatty tuna (see below) and one seared piece of fish… delicious.
After having so many issues finding a place for lunch, we were especially grateful for the meal.. but it was also delicious. What a lucky find!
