TAPS, St Anton, Austria

A last day of skiing before heading back to reality… Sitting outside in the sun at TAPS bar and restaurant, we took in the last few hours on the mountain.

At Sara’s advice (she’s been ordering well this weekend), I ordered the Tiroler kasspressknoedel soup, which is an Austrian dumpling soup. Served in a beef broth, the dumpling is mixed with tons of cheese before being cooked… it essentially ends up tasting like a cheesy matzoh ball (which you know that I love). Delicious.

Then, I had the fried chicken strips with salad. Also a great call. The chicken strips were perfectly tender and moist, lightly dusted with breading. And large pieces of salad (after all this meat, it was nice to eat something green) lightly mixed in a salad dressing. This was substantial enough but not too heavy…
