Piedmonte Day 4 (Easter Monday)

During the Christmas to New Years week, I am going to post a few old blog posts that I never sent… from Istanbul, Italy and others. They were written at the time, and I for some reason never posted them… so enjoy!

(April 2013)

Our last day in Piedmonte, we got to a bit of a late start (we had a late night meeting all these new people at the osteria!)

A quick note about our bed and breakfast… it cost EUR 100 per day for a double room. The room was a good size, as was the bathroom (we had a bidet but no bathtub). There were tons of extra towels, a hairdryer, extra blankets… most things that you would find in a hotel – and they were happy to bring us extra bottled water at no cost when we asked. Margherita, the owner of the B&B, was lovely, helping us to reserve restaurants and vineyard visits and making suggestions for anything else we might need.

The B&B is associated with the Mulino Sobrino flour mill next door, and the breakfast is amazing. All breads are made with the mill’s different flours, but there is also a large spread of cakes and sweet pastries, cereals, fruits, and homemade chocolates (that taste just like Ferrero Roche). I would highly recommend staying at Fior de Farina, whether with a friend or on a romantic weekend!

Restaurants:

La Contea, via Cocito, Nieve

Bed and Breakfast:

Fior di Farina, via Roma, La Morra
