Today, I met my cousin Margot for lunch. She’s moving to Vienna with her husband next week, and we have a lot to catch up on before her goodbye party this Saturday!
We went to Lupita, next to my office. Lupita is a Mexican restaurant that serves tacos, quesadillas, ceviches, tostados and other little dishes. We started with some chips and salsa, as Margot isn’t a huge guacamole fan.
There was a tomatillo salsa, a “regular” red salsa, and a smokier salsa. I liked the smoky salsa the best.
After this, we each got two dishes. Margot got a vegetarian taquito with a smoky chipotle sauce, and a mushroom quesadilla – both were apparently very good. I got the potato and squash blossom quesadilla (which was just ok) and the shrimp (Gobernador) tacos with smoky chipotle sauce and pico de gallo. The tacos were great. (Tacos are on the bottom left)
The service was especially slow today, but it gave us a good chance to catch up.
See you this weekend, Margot!
